Rally at the Statehouse to Preserve Marriage
Friday, May 21st on the steps of the Statehouse, a large group of predominately African American pastors joined together
to show their support for current Indiana marriage law. The speakers delighted hundreds of supporters as they voiced
their opposition to same-sex marriage in Massachusetts.
The rally was positive and upbeat, while also emphasizing the damaging effects of the homosexual lifestyle. One of the
main themes throughout the rally consisted of the message that homosexuals should be given loving assistance by the
Christian community in order to help them with their struggles.
In fact, two of the speakers where women who escaped the homosexual lifestyle through the love and compassion of their
church family. The pastors went on to speak about the common sense nature of the same-sex marriage argument. They
stated that children need both a mother and a father, as God intended.
They called on State Legislators to pass an amendment to the Indiana Constitution defining marriage as only between
one man and one woman. They also demanded that Indiana's U.S. Congressmen support the Federal Marriage Amendment in
the Senate and U.S. Rep. John Hostetler's Marriage Protection Act in the House.
