Preparing for 2025

12/11/24

As 2024 quickly comes to a close, IFI is busy preparing for the 2025 Legislative Session. The Indiana General Assembly alternates between short and long legislative sessions each year. Since 2025 is an “odd” year, this will be a long session, commencing on January 8 and concluding on April 29, at the latest, for a total of 61 non-consecutive days. This is nearly twice as long as last year’s short session, in which we accomplished a great deal. We are hopeful that this longer session will allow us to push even more legislation forward that supports our chief goals of protecting faith, family, and freedom in our state.

While we don’t have specifics on bills that will be filed yet, we do know what IFI’s main focus for the session will be: solidifying parental rights in our state.

In early March, we received the news that the US Supreme Court made the devastating decision to deny the petition of Mary and Jeremy Cox to defend religious liberty and parental rights on a national level. Now it is up to our state leaders and elected officials to bring justice to this family and prevent any others from experiencing the heartbreak and injustice these parents endured after their child was stripped from their custody because they did not support his “gender transition.”

Throughout the 2025 session, we will be working on legislation to prevent this injustice from occurring to any other families. One practical way you can engage in this issue is by using our form to send a pre-written email to the state leaders involved in decisions regarding parental rights. Click the button below to sign. Nearly 500 Hoosiers have already taken action, and every voice matters.

Thanks to support from people like you, the Indiana Family Institute can devote the time, energy, and resources required to make good legislation happen. Would you consider helping us reach our year-end fundraising goal so we can begin 2025 with the resources we need to support your values in the legislature, courts, and our communities?

Our enemies are not going to give up on their agenda and neither are we. Your financial support to the Indiana Family Institute is one of the most impactful you can make to protect future generations – our children and grandchildren. Click HERE to donate.

Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare for the 2025 Legislative Session.
