6 days to save girls’ sports
In just six days, our state legislators will debate whether to override the governor’s veto of HB 1041, the bill which would have been a crucial step forward to save girls’ sports in Indiana.
There has been a damaging myth among some folks that HB 1041 would somehow prevent a child suffering from gender dysphoria from participating in sports. That’s not true.
In fact, HB 1041 still allows co-ed teams to exist. What it does do is ensure that only biological female athletes participate on women’s teams and that biological males participate on men’s teams.
This is absolutely necessary to ensure that opportunities are not taken from female athletes and that women’s sports are not erased.
This debate is scheduled to happen just six days from now. Hoosier legislators need to know that their constituents expect them to override the governor’s veto. When Gov. Holcomb vetoed HB 1041, he ignored the will of the people.
Thank you for taking action to save girls’ sports in Indiana!
